Update, July 8, 2010
If you are a former salaried retiree whose post-retirement benefits were discontinued, you should have received in the mail a Notice of Creditor's meeting and accompanying package. You should have also received a letter from us. Please read those materials carefully.
If you were not a former salaried retiree, but were a CH Plan member, you will not have received this package. However, if you are interested in the Plan of Arrangement, please visit:

Update - June 17, 2010
There have been reports in the media regarding the plan for the Canwest Media restructuring, reporting that a meeting of the creditors will be held on July 19. The exact date of the meeting of the creditors will not be definitively known until June 22, when the proposal will be before the court. You will receive information regarding the restructuring plan from both us and Canwest as soon as possible after June 22.

The stay of proceedings has been further extended to September 8, 2010.
Update - March 29, 2010
The Claims Bar date was extended to June 15, 2010.
Update - March 10, 2010
The Claims Bar date was extended to the end of March. The Representatives and Counsel continue negotiations on the severance and benefits claims and hope to reach a resolution very soon.

On October 6, 2009, Canwest Global Communications Corp. (“Canwest”) entered into a restructuring process under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (“CCAA”). On October 27, 2009, Rose Stricker, David Cremasco, and Lawrence Schnurr (the “Representatives”) were appointed to represent the Retirees in the CCAA proceedings, and Hugh O’Reilly of Cavalluzzo Hayes Shilton McIntyre & Cornish LLP was appointed as representative counsel for the Retirees.

If during your employment you were a member of the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union (the “CEP”) and you are not a member of the CH Employees Pension Plan, you are not a Retiree. Please contact the CEP directly.
