Victorias practice involves the
representation of a variety of public sector and private sector unions and their members
in arbitrations, at the labour board, and before other administrative tribunals. Her
practice includes the defence of teachers and health care professionals before their
governing colleges in complaints, investigations, discipline and fitness to practice
proceedings. Victoria also represents health care professionals at inquests. Victoria
is bilingual and represents unions and their members in french language matters arising from their
collective agreements, and as nominee on french language arbitration panels.
Victoria's practice involves education law and she represents teachers in all matters arising
from their employment. She has a strong interest in human rights, especially in the areas
of sexual harassment and the duty to accommodate workers with disabilities. Victoria also
appears regularly before Review Officers and the Pay Equity Hearings Tribunal on
pay equity issues.
Victoria regularly consults with clients on the development of pay equity policies and
plans, sexual harassment policies, and non-discrimination clauses for collective
agreements. She participates in and designs alternative dispute resolution processes,
particularly for resolving complex sexual harassment and discrimination cases.
Victoria prepares and presents annual Grievance Arbitration and Union Steward Workshops
covering all areas of labour law.
