On June 30, 2008, Ontario’s new human rights system came into force. Bill 107, An Act to Amend the Human Rights Code, transforms how human rights are enforced. The new system consists of four cornerstones aimed at building a culture of human rights compliance in Ontario: the Ontario Human Rights Commission (the “Commission”), the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario (the “Tribunal”), the new Human Rights Legal Support Centre (the “Centre”), and the Courts.
