The right to strike in the public sector has been a longstanding controversialissue in Canadian labour law. As public sector compensation attracts more attention from government, this issue will continue to vexlabour relations practitioners and academics. The conventional wisdom of today is that limited government is better and that government expenditures should be restrained.
