Brazil has embarked on a process of labour law reform which highlights both the contradictions and consensus which marks the new Brazil. With 170 million people, Brazil is one of the largest industrialised developing countries and yet large sections of the country remain agricultural, most of the economy is informal and poverty and inequality has widespread.
