About The Role
We are hiring an associate lawyer, with strong commitments to social advocacy and the protection of working people and Indigenous rights, to practice in one or more of the following areas:
- Individual Employment;
- Civil Litigation;
- Union-Side Labour Law;
- Public, Administrative and Constitutional Law; and/or,
- Aboriginal Law and Indigenous Rights.
Position Requirements
Candidates must be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario and will have:
- 2 to 4 years of relevant post-call experience in the practice areas outlined above
- Demonstrated written and oral advocacy skills
- Excellent legal research, writing and analytical abilities
- Professionalism, diligence, initiative, and a client-focused approach
- Ability to effectively handle sensitive or confidential information with tact and discretion
- Strong communication, relationship management and conflict mitigation skills
- Detail oriented and reliable
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently as needed
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and/or client demands
- Commitment to social justice and participating in a diverse, honest, respectful and mutually supportive workplace culture
- Fluency in French is strongly preferred
Salary Range: $124,973 - $146,447. Starting salary dependent on years of relevant post-call experience.
