More Information About the Case and Settlement

The lawsuit that led to the settlement alleges that CTS violated statutory and contractual obligations when it shut down the CTS Plant in Streetsville.  The lawsuit claimed damages for these alleged violations.  Some violations were proved in court while other allegations had to be dealt with later.

This case proceeded to "summary judgment" in 2017, the summary judgment decision [found HERE] was appealed by CTS, and the appeal was allowed in part [found HERE].  After the appeal and an attempt to get the Supreme Court to hear the case, the Parties reached the proposed settlement.  A copy of the full settlement agreement can be [found HERE].
