Grassy Narrows First Nation is continuing their fight to protect their treaty rights and prevent environmental harm to their lands, waters.

A recent Toronto Star investigation has brought attention to serious concerns over Kinross Gold’s plan to discharge wastewater into the English River system, which is upstream from Grassy Narrows, a community that continues to live with the devastating effects of mercury poisoning caused by industrial dumping in the 1960s and 70s.

The people of Grassy Narrows have demonstrated extraordinary resilience in the face of constant systemic harm.
