Danielle Bisnar will speak at the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers’ conference about
Fraser v Canada, a significant case on substantive equality for women with caregiving responsibilities under section 15 of the Charter. Danielle was co-counsel, with Janet Borowy and Kate Hughes, to the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) in intervening in Fraser before the Supreme Court of Canada. Danielle will situate Fraser in the context of the SCC’s section 15 case law and comment on some of its implications for litigating systemic discrimination going forward.
